The Aleksander Foundation is opening applications for its newest Graduate Excellence Scholarship – a €10,000 award for outstanding Bulgarian graduates ready to continue on their academic journey in the 2026/2027 academic year.

We are delighted to introduce Teodora Mihaylova, our newest Bulgarian Futures Scholar. Teodora is a distinguished alumna of New Bulgarian University in Sofia and is currently based in Vienna, where she is pursuing an M.A. in Public Policy at Central European University for the 2025/2026 academic year. In 2024, our very first Bulgarian Futures Scholar - Stefan Karaleev - set off for Vienna to study at Central European University, pursuing an LL.M. in Global Business Law and Regulation. In the summer of 2025, Valeri Konicheva was awarded the London School of Economics (LSE) Summer School Scholarship by the Aleksander Foundation. Between May 19–21 this year, the Aleksander Foundation hosted the fourth edition of its London Trip initiative, bringing 8 bright students to one of the world’s leading business and technology hubs. Over the course of three days, the students embarked on a professional and academic journey across the city.

On June 8th, Alek Petrov didn’t just complete the Eastbourne Triathlon — he challenged himself both physically and mentally to support a cause that is very dear to his heart, namely STEM Education in Bulgaria - an initiative started by the organisation Teach for Bulgaria. Thanks to your belief in that vision, over €2,700 has already been raised by 25+ incredible supporters.

Our founder, Alek Petrov, has taken on a new kind of challenge - not just physical, but deeply personal and national in scope. This year, he’s dedicating his triathlon efforts to support Teach For Bulgaria (“Заедно в час”), an organization that shares our mission of empowering the next generation of Bulgarian minds through access to quality education.
